A TOWN pub is trialling a coffee morning to support residents dealing with isolation and loneliness.
The Cottage Inn on Champford Lane will be opening at 11am on Tuesday, July 29, as part of the owner’s endeavour to support the local community.
Owner Connie Steele said: “I know someone who suffers with loneliness in the area and I want to help them and others with this issue.
“It’s a case of getting people in the same situation together and allowing them to make friends and be of assistance to each other on a daily basis.
“Maybe these people get help once a week, but once, when you’re suffering seven days a week, you need more support than that.”
“Who knows, it may not work but we can try.”
