TWO choirs are getting together for a fun weekend of song and laughter in Wellington.

The Blackdown Community Choir was invited to spend a weekend in Brecon, Wales, with the local choir Alive and Kicking last spring. Members had an enjoyable experience sharing songs, learning new ones and socialising with like-minded souls.

The Blackdown choir has now invited Alive and Kicking to join it for a similar weekend of song and social events in Wellington on March 18-19.

On the Saturday, following a pub lunch, a combined song workshop will be held led by the two choir leaders, with breaks for tea and cakes and a buffet supper.

On Sunday, weather permitting, a busk for fun is planned in the centre of Wellington between 11am-noon. It is hoped any Sunday shoppers or strollers will enjoy listening to the two choirs singing for fun.
