PLANNING for a community day in Wellington is well under way, with volunteer groups meeting for a second time to exchange ideas.
The day, planned to take place at Wellington Rugby Club on July 13, is open to volunteer groups and those working for the benefit of the local community in and around the town.
Dave Atkinson, fundraising co-ordinator for Wellington St. John Ambulance, said: "This event is being planned to offer all local community groups a chance to promote themselves, raise awareness of their work in the area, attract new members, and do some fundraising.
"Community groups can include those working with people or animals, or working to protect the environment, or any other aspect of community life."
The meeting takes place on Sunday, March 9, at St John Ambulance headquarters, Victoria Street, Wellington, starting at 2.30pm, and should last no more than an hour.
