BUSINESS owners and managers in Wellington are being invited to an informal networking event on Tuesday (March 24) focused on the support available for them.

The Wellington Employer and Skills Partnership (WESP) is bringing together local employers to share information on the available support and to raise visibility and understand what businesses actually need to grow and thrive in 2026.

The free session is being held in the town council’s Kings Arms Community Hub and is scheduled to last for just 90 minutes from 5 pm to 6.30 pm.

Council community development officer Laura Batcha said: “Join us in person for an exciting evening where retail and hospitality pros come together.

“It is a great chance to connect, share ideas, and network with like-minded locals.

“Whether you are looking to grow your ‘biz’ or just keen to meet others in the community, this night is for you.

“Do not miss out on the buzz and the chance to mingle face-to-face.

“At the event, you will hear what local business support is currently available, including Connect Somerset, updates on changes to careers education and what this means for employers, how to access free promotion for your business via the Visit Wellington website - fully-funded by the town council.

“Most importantly, we want to hear from you.

“What support do you need?

“What are your current challenges?

“What would actually make a difference?

“There is no expectation or obligation, this is about creating a space where local businesses feel supported, connected, and heard.”

Anybody who has not already booked to attend can do so online.
