TWO brothers have presented a cheque of £1,050 to Court Fields School in their late father's memory.

Andrew and Jon Govier donated the cheque to the secondary school which will be used for aspiring sportsmen at Court Fields.

The money came from a collection in George Govier's memory, after he passed away earlier this year.

Head of PE Mr Conway accepted the cheque on behalf of the school, which will be used to support students who might not be able to afford the equipment they need to pursue a sporting career.

George was a keen sportsman, playing both football and cricket for Wellington.

He was a much-loved Wellington resident and captained the Barley Mow team which won several league titles in the 1960s and 70s.
