A Wellington woman has admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance.

Rosie Burke, aged 33, of Immenstadt Drive, was stopped driving in North End, Creech St Michael, near Taunton in July, while she was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.

She was also charged with driving without having a valid insurance policy in place.

She admitted both offences, which were listed for the first time earlier this week by magistrates sitting in Taunton.

Magistrates were told the offences were committed on Saturday, July 18, contrary to section 143 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

Ms Burke was remanded on bail without conditions until the next hearing in November.
