GREEN-FINGERED children at Culmstock Pre-School have been planting lettuce, beans, radishes, spring onions and peas in the pre-school garden and learning about how to care for them over the coming months.

Tina Walters at The Gardeners Nursery, Leonard Moor Cross, Uffculme, visited the pre-school at the start of the summer term armed with plants to plant with the children.

The youngsters will harvest their crops during the final weeks of the summer term and enjoy them as healthy snacks during their pre-school day. Outdoor activities are continued through regular Forest School sessions during the term.

Culmstock Pre-school at the Methodist Church in the centre of the village has been established nearly 40 years and has five members of staff.
