Children at St John’s CofE Primary School in Wellington spent weeks learning songs, creating poems and writing prayers – all ready for their harvest celebration.
Then they shared class videos and had individual assemblies with their teacher and headteacher Olly Priestley.
Although they could not gather as a whole school, the children were thrilled to share what they had learned via Zoom and videos which were then shared with families at home.
Years 5 and 6 enjoyed their harvest by joining St John’s Church for a special service which also included the promises of the new pupil chaplains.
Many children and their families kindly provided a large amount of tinned and dried goods which has been donated to the Homeless Shelter and Refugee Organisation.
As a school, they were very appreciative and thankful for the kind donations brought in by so many families, a reminder of how the school continues to share joy and hope with the community.
