Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a good week.

On Thursday, I woke up before Mum and Dad, so I phoned Toby and asked if he wanted to play video games. We played Fifa for a while and he won every game! We had porridge for breakfast and I spent the morning doing maths homework. I am learning my times tables and they’re really hard!

On Friday, Dad went to the bookshop and bought me a new book by David Walliams. He writes funny fiction stories. This book is called ‘Gangsta Granny’ and I started reading it in the afternoon – it’s really funny! For dinner, Mum ordered fish and chips and they were really tasty. We spent the evening watching television together.

On Saturday, I read more of my book and practised my times tables. But the best thing we did was go out at night and watch the meteorite shower. This is when you look at the sky and it looks like lots of shooting stars, but it’s actually when rocks fly really fast in space. It was amazing! And I got to stay up past my bedtime!

On Sunday, I was quite tired, so I slept in a bit longer. Mum wanted me to help cook the roast dinner, so I carefully chopped the carrots, broccoli and potatoes. I also helped make the Yorkshire puddings by mixing flour, eggs and milk. I let Mum put everything in the oven because it can get really hot. When we had dinner, we ate everything and I was left feeling very full. I played Fifa with Toby but I was tired so we only played one game and we drew.

On Monday, I did more research about space and how humans can get there. I want to make a rocket, so I looked for pictures of rockets on the internet with Dad’s help. I found out the tallest rocket ever was 110 metres, so I don’t think I can build a real one in my back garden! I drew pictures and collected materials for making a toy rocket. I found toilet rolls, newspaper, paints and cardboard that I could use.

On Tuesday, I started building my rocket. I began by cutting out holes in the toilet rolls to make windows, and stacking these on top of each other. I then did paper mache to make the body of the rocket strong. I will have to wait until this dries, so in the afternoon I read my book and played Fifa with Toby. What a great week!
