MORE THAN 100 youngsters flocked to the Basins beauty spot on Easter Sunday in a frantic hunt for Easter eggs.

The eggs had been hidden by members of the Basins volunteer committee for the children to find.

Wellington Bear joined in the event, which drew more than 300 people in all, and proved such a success that the committee is now planning four more between June and Septemnber.

Terry Milton, chairman of the Basins Volunteer Group, who master minded the egg hunt, told the WWN: "We were somewhat taken aback with the numbers.

"It was a brilliant response, and we'd like to thank everyone who took part and supported the day."

Now, the committee is hoping to hold a teddy bears picnic, a duck race and a treasure hunt during the comming months, with members of Tone Valley Model Boat Club returning on September for another display.
