THE county council are hosting a barbecue for secondary school aged children as part of a plan to provide more summer activities for young people.

The barbecue, which will be free, will take place next to the shelter at the top of Wellington Park from 4pm until 6pm on Tuesday, August 5.

Cllr Andrew Govier said he hoped the event would give locals with the opportunity to share their thoughts on what more could be provided for young people in the town.
