A SOMERSET-based animal sanctuary is gearing up for its annual summer fete.

Ferne Animal Sanctuary, the animal rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming charity based in Chard, will be hosting this year’s fete on Sunday, July 20, from 10am until 4pm.

The fundraising fete is complete with giant outdoor games, a creative corner for hands-on arts and crafts, and a decked out indoor beach, with sandpits, paddling pools, and ice cream.

The Somerset Moth Group will also show face, offering visitors the chance to observe moths that have gathered overnight and to learn about each unique species and their behaviours.

Emma Purnell, chief executive officer at Ferne Animal Sanctuary, said: “We’re so excited to welcome everyone to this year’s Summer Fete – it’s set to be our best event yet!”
