SOMERSET’S Ferne Animal Sanctuary is gearing up for a day of springtime fun with its annual Spring Festival which will take place on its grounds in the Blackdown Hills, near Chard, on Sunday, April 20.

Expect an exciting Easter Egg hunt through the sanctuary’s lush grounds, where little explorers may get the opportunity to bump into the Easter Bunny while they follow the Easter themed adventure trail. Animal lovers can get up close with Ferne’s charming colony of rabbits, friendly pigs and much more as the sanctuary’s expert team shares fun and fascinating insights about their care.

Young adventurers can unleash their creativity in the sanctuary’s Creative Corner, which will be packed with hands-on activities to spark the imagination of inquisitive minds young and old. Fundraising fun awaits, including Easter wreath decorating, painting stained glass Easter eggs, puzzles galore, and native bird egg-themed educational activities—all in support of Ferne’s mission to rescue, re-home and rehabilitate animals in need.

Ferne Animal Sanctuary is teaming up with the local community to bring a vibrant selection of stalls to this year’s Spring Festival, which will be packed with seasonal delights. Visitors can browse an array of handcrafted treasures, from cakes, homemade crafts, artwork, Easter toys, cards and more, all while enjoying a delicious toastie from Butter Side Up.
