A SOLO exhibition by artist Roger Rowley opens in a Wellington gallery on Saturday (April 20) and runs all week until April 27.
Neither Here nor There is a series of works informed by examining the value and meaning placed on everyday objects, particularly those which evoke memories of people, places, or events.
The Devon-based artist looks at how such objects carry a persistence of the past into the present, evoking memories and fostering a means to develop and maintain a cognitive sense of self.
As a painter, he is interested in the responsiveness to the painted surface and the inter-relationship between the object and the act of painting.
Rowley’s exhibition is being hosted in the Old Brick Workshop Gallery, Poole.
