A WALKING festival allowing visitors to explore the landscape that inspired poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge being held by the National Trust is fast approaching.

The event, to be held on on June 7 and 8, focuses on the Quantock Hills surroundings that influenced some of Coleridge's most famous works, such as Kubla Khan, Frost at Midnight and The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

Visitors are invited to explore the poet’s connection to nature through guided walks led by the Quantock Hills Walking Partnership, supported by Coleridge Cottage’s walking volunteers.

Site manager, Charlotte Hall, said: “Coleridge may have only lived in Nether Stowey for a short period of time, but the landscape certainly left a lasting impression on him.”

Tickets can be purchased through the Coleridge Cottage website.
