A CLASSIC of silent cinema will return to the screen as part of the Wellington Film Festival 2025.

A special screening of F.W. Murnau’s 1926 masterpiece Faust will take place at St John’s Church on Friday, October 3, accompanied by a newly commissioned live soundtrack.

This one-night-only event invites audiences to experience Murnau’s vision of temptation and redemption with an original live score, composed and performed by Aidan Steele and Ruby Cox.

Aidan said: “We chose Faust because of its inspiring imagery.

“It’s rooted in folk lore, so we’ve drawn on traditional folk songs for the harmonies - with a modern approach.”

Established in 2022, Wellington Film Festival brings classic and contemporary cinema to the heart of Somerset.

This year the event will take place from October 3 until 5.
