BUTCHERS at Rumwell Farm Shop are celebrating after winning the overall class champion cup for their sausages at the South West Sausage Championship.

They picked up the accolade at the South West Winter Fair at Sedgemoor Auction Centre in North Petherton for their traditional pork sausages.

Trevor Stark, butchery manager at the farm shop on the A38 between Wellington and Taunton, said: “This is a fantastic achievement. We also managed to take home a gold award for our pork, roast ginger and spring onion variety.

“This was only our second year of entering the competition and is a step up from winning two silver awards last year.”

Trevor has worked in the butchery department for 12 years and his main role is to handle the preparation of the meat for display and overseeing the day-to-day running of the department. He also has an NVQ Level 2 in meat processing.
