TWO fire crews from Wellington and one from Taunton and Honiton fought a fire involving a temporary building, and a number of cars and cylinders at Dunkeswell Airfield on Thursday afternoon of last week.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said members of the public and workers at the airfield put in emergency calls to fire control.
They added: “On arrival crews confirmed that one Portakabin, various cars and cylinders were involved in the fire and requested a water bowser from Danes Castle (Exeter) to supply water. Crews immediately got to work with two breathing apparatus and two jets.”
A further two breathing apparatus took part in the operation utilising two local hydrants and the water bowser before the fire was eventually extinguished.
