A WELLINGTON teenager took his own life after the death of a number of close family members, an inquest heard.

Harry Powell, aged 17, of Springfield Road, was found ‘in a remote and inaccessible location’ near the railway line close to Linden Hill on September 28, 2023.

He had been reported the previous evening by his mother Catriona Powell as having gone missing from home.

Senior Somerset Coroner Samantha Marsh was told Harry’s father had died three months earlier and he had also lost other family.

Mrs Marsh said: “On the evidence, this act was impulsive and occurred on a background of overwhelming grief following multiple significant familial bereavements in a short space of time.”

She concluded the death was suicide.
