TAUNTON Deane Borough Council has teamed up with agencies and volunteers to bring festive cheer to families in Wellington.

This year’s children’s Christmas party, organised by the Wellington One Team, was held at Wellington Baptist church where more than 120 children and families enjoyed a host of festive entertainment.

The event was funded, staffed and organised by a team of frontline agencies, including Taunton Deane Borough Council, Wellington ‘getset’ team, Knightstone Housing, Tone Leisure and volunteers from Churches Together.

It marked the end of a busy year for the Wellington One Team which held seven community events for local families and has a packed diary of events planned for 2017.

Cllr Jane Warmington, executive councillor for Community Leadership, said: “It is heart-warming to see the Wellington One Team, made up of people from all the agencies, making sure that everyone enjoys themselves and celebrates this special time of year.”
