STUDENT Kate Shapland did not come up short when it came to raising money for the Little Princess Trust.

The 15-year-old, a student at Queen’s College, Taunton, had her long locks cut in The Mount hairdressers in the High Street,

Wellington, raising £800 for the charity.

The trust raises money to buy wigs of natural hair for children with cancer. Kate’s cash will buy three wigs.

“I would like to thank all the people of Fitzhead, my school and friends for sponsoring me,” said Kate who lives at Fitzhead.

Kate has always had long hair, so this charity haircut was a new experience for her.
