WELLINGTON Town Council is to continue talks with Somerset County Council with regard to keeping open the library in Fore Street, Wellington.

The county council is trying to save £500,000 from its Library Service budget and is planning to close libraries.

Wellington is not on the list to be closed but is looking for ‘community support’.

Members of the public can attend a ‘drop in’ at the library on Saturday, February 17.

EIGHT ‘dangerous skateboarding’ signs in Wellington have been removed by Somerset County Council, it was reported at Wellington Town Council’s monthly meeting on Monday.

Councillors were told that if ‘any more are spotted they will also be removed’.
