A team of local fire fighters have battled 15 mountain peaks to raise money for charity.

The endurance feat was taken on by Jed Jackson of Wellington station, along with Tom Mole, Toby Bashford-taylor and Connor Chilcott.

The challenge is known as the 'Welsh 3000s' which sees competitors climb every peak towering above 3000ft in 24 hours. The use of vehicles to travel between each peak is not permitted.

The team travelled over 33 miles, scaled three mountain ranges and conquered all 15 peaks in 18 hours and 30 minutes.

The group embarked on the trek to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity. The charity provides advice, support and information to fire fighters and their families, assisting with a rage of issues including assisting with physical and mental health as well as social wellbeing.
