A YOUNG man who was found dead in a town centre flat in Wellington a fortnight ago has been named.

He was 34-year-old Douglas James.

Mr James was the second person to die suddenly in the town centre after a 36-year-old woman died in a property in Cornhill two weeks earlier.

He was found after police were called to a property in Mantle Street on the evening of August 22 and made a forced entry through the front door.

Police said at the time they were not treating his death as suspicious.

Somerset senior coroner Samantha Marsh, sitting in the Old Municipal Buildings, Taunton, has opened an inquest into the death of Mr James.

Mrs Marsh adjourned the proceedings to a later date after hearing evidence of identification and cause of death.
