AN appeal has been made for more volunteers to help make the annual Milverton May Fair a success.

The Milverton Trust is organising the event on the village recreation ground on May 4 and saw a number of people respond to an earlier call for help.

But, it said manning the fair would still be ‘fairly challenging’ unless more volunteers stepped forward.

A spokesperson said: “You only need to volunteer an hour of your time, so please do get in touch to ensure this village event goes ahead in future years.”

Fair entertainment will include Morris and Maypole dancing, the Silver Street Band, a Punch and Judy show, children’s races and games, and steam engines provided by local enthusiasts.
