A NEW free Art and Mindfulness course starts at Wiveliscombe Community Centre on Friday.
The course runs over five sessions from 10am-3pm and is an introduction to the well-being technique of mindfulness, what it is, how it works and how to use it in daily life.
The course uses art as a way of exploring nature and a range of gentle art activities will be on offer. The course gives participants a chance to explore their creativity and promises
techniques for them to work with their ‘inner critic’ so that their creativity can flourish.
The course is aimed at beginners but artists may also enjoy the course. It is free, although a small charge will be made for materials – these can be waived for unemployed participants.
Ceri Louise has taught art at GCSE level and is a trained Mindfulness teacher. She also works as a counsellor at Court Fields School in Wellington.
