NYNEHEAD Garden Club held its 21st annual flower show on Saturday, August 9.

Held at the town’s village hall, the show garnered entries for all sections, including vegetables, fruit, flowers, floral art, cookery and handicrafts.

Independent judges undertook their scoring at 10am, with an awards ceremony involving cups and rosettes, followed by tea, coffee and cake at 2pm.

Winners included Mike Broom for ‘Best Flower’, Marion King for ‘Best Fruit’, and John Hill for ‘Best Vegetable’.

The garden club chair, Gordon Stead said: “We hope everyone enjoyed the day and would welcome any new members to our garden club.”

The group’s next meeting is on Monday, September 8, at 7pm when Stephen Powles will be discussing hedgehogs.
