WELLINGTON Cricket Club have secured the services of another young South African player via former South African and Somerset opening batsman Jimmy Cook.

Right arm fast medium bowler and lower middle-order batsman Rowan Varkevisser will be playing for the Somerset League first division side this summer.

Rowan - who hails from Johannesburg and attended St Benedict's College, another prestigious South African educational establishment - has been selected with a view to Wellington going one better than last season and securing the Somerset League title.
