A YELLOW-headed amazon parrot has gone missing in Wellington having escaped his cage on the morning of Tuesday, June 17.
Diego, who knows his name, talks and whistles tunes, was last seen at 7.20am on June 17 before he flew out of his aviary in the Sylvan Road area.
Owner, Katy Westlake, says she’s gutted by the disappearance of the bird who she’s had for five years.

She said: “I know people only think he’s a bird, but he’s not just a pet, he’s my baby and I’m gutted.
“He’s only ever done it once before, but it was at nighttime, so he came home.
“I’m just really worried about him.”
Katy says he is always whistling and has told neighbours and friends to listen out for The Addams Family theme tune, or (Sittin on) The Dock of the Bay, two of Diego’s favourite songs.
The owner added: “If someone thinks they can hear a builder, it might be him.”
