Children at St John's primary school celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite characters
Students and staff at St John's Church of England Primary School extended World Book Day to an entire week of celebration.
Through the week each class studied a fairy tale, before recreating their own version of the story with accompanying artwork.
On the day itself students got creative as they came into school dressed up as their favourite fictional characters, with some children making their own costumes for the occasion.
The school was full of comic book characters and princesses - with a student from each class being awarded a certificate for having the best costume.
A member of the teaching staff said: "The children had a brilliant day in their costumes, and it was amazing to see the effort they had all made to become a character or word.
The quality of their art and writing this week has been phenomenal and we cannot wait to have it put on display for all to enjoy.”
