IT was a scandal that no action had yet been taken about the pigeon mess in Cornhill, Wellington, said Isabel Ward, chairman of Wellington in Bloom, at the December meeting of Wellington Town Council.

She understood that the agent for the owners of the derelict property had had a look and was thinking about it. She had asked for Cornhill to be power-washed/swept and was hoping one of the four surplus new square litter bins would be installed in Cornhill by Taunton Deane Borough Council. Altogether there were 41 new litter bins around the town.

Town Mayor Janet Lloyd said Cornhill was “pretty disgusting” when she went round the town judging the Christmas shop window competition with Deputy Mayor Bob Bowrah.
