PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:

Temporary road closure in Bradford-on-Tone

Somerset Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, propose to make an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Oake Road, Bradford-on-Tone, from 173 metres north-west of the junction with East Nynehead Road.

This order will enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works.

The works are expected to take place between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm on Friday, October 24.

Traffic prohibited at Wild Oake Lane

Somerset Council propose to make an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Wild Oak Lane, Trull, from 123 metres south of the junction with Trull Road, southwards for a total distance of 87 metres.

This order is to enable Wessex Water to carry out new customer connection works.

The works are expected to commence on Monday, October 20, and last until Friday, October 24.

Water works to cause closure at Fitzhead Road

Somerset Council propose to make an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Fitzhead Road, Fitzhead, from 399 metres south-east of the junction with Tylers Lane, south-eastwards for a total distance of 103 metres.

This order will enable Wessex Water to renew a stop tap. The works are expected to commence on Monday, October 20, and last until Friday, October 24.

Weekday only closure

Somerset Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Ford Road, Wiveliscombe, from the junction with Burges Lane, northwards for a total distance of 190 metres.

This order will enable Openreach to carry out cabling and poling works.

The works commenced on Monday, October 6, and last until Friday, October 24, between 9.30am and 3.30pm (Monday to Friday only).

Closure at Hazeltree Lane

Somerset Council propose to make an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Hazeltree Lane, Fivehead, from 91 metres north-east from the junction with Millers Orchard, north-eastwards for a total distance of 27 metres.

This order will enable Wessex Water to install a new connection. The works are expected to commence on Monday, October 20, to until Wednesday, October 22.
