PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:
• Notice has been given that Somerset Council proposes to make an order to amend a former Somerset West and Taunton Council Off Street Parking Places notice to alter the days when parking charges apply in certain car parks, and to make other minor amendments to the Order so it aligns better with the current operation of the car parks.
• A temporary prohibition of traffic order will be in place on the M5 between junction 28 and 30, taking place overnight between the hours of 7pm and 6am from September 15 to December 20 to enable resurfacing and associated works can be carried out in safety. It will affect the following: The southbound carriageway of the M5 between junctions 28 and 30, the southbound entry slip road at junction 28, the southbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 29, and the the southbound exit slip roads at junction 30.
• Allerford Road, Oake, will be closed from 11.30pm on Saturday, October 4, to 8am on Sunday, October 5, to enable Network Rail to carry out phased level crossing inspection works.
• Allerford Road, Oake, will be closed from 11.30pm on Saturday, October 11, to 8am on Sunday, October 12, to enable Network Rail to carry out phased level crossing inspection works.
• Wrangway Lane, Sampford Arundel, will be closed between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm on Friday, September 19, to enable Openreach to carry out a pole replacement.
• Hollyoake Street, Wellington, will be closed from Monday, September 15, to Friday, October 10, to enable National Grid to carry out cabling works.
• Butts Way, Milverton, will be closed from Monday, September 29, to Friday, October 10, to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer lining works.
• A Notice of Cancellation meaning that the registration of The Brompton Ralph Village Shop Association Limited in Lea Rig, Hillcommon, has been cancelled at its request. The society ceases to enjoy the privileges of a registered society, but without prejudice to any liability incurred by the society, which may be enforced against it as if such cancellation had not taken place.
