PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:

Road through Rockwell Green to be closed

Exeter Road, which runs through Rockwell Green and connects to Wellington’s Mantle Street, will be temporarily closed later this month by Somerset Council.

This is to enable Wessex Water to carry out reinstatement works.

The road will only be closed for one day, beginning at 9.30am and ending at 3pm on Monday, November 24, for a total of 5.5 hours.

Resurfacing works close roundabout and connected roads

Somerset Council has ordered that there will be a temporary closure of Cades Roundabout, Wellington, in its entirety, along with Taunton Road, Torres Verdas Drive and Nynehead Road from each of their junctions with Cades Roundabout.

This order has been put in place to enable Heidelberg to carry out prep and resurfacing works on behalf of Somerset Highways.

The works are expected to take place for three evenings from Tuesday, November 25, to Thursday, November 27, with the closures set to take place between 6.30pm and 11.30pm each night.

Closure of Fitzhead Road

An order has been made by Somerset Council to temporarily close Fitzhead Road, Fitzhead, near its junction with Church Road, for a total distance of 82 metres.

This order has bee made to enable Airband to carry out splicing works.

This closure is only expected to last for six hours, taking place from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesday, November 25.

Two roads in Trull closed

Somerset Council has ordered that there will be a temporary closure of Honinton Road, Trull, from its junction with Dipford Lane to its junction with Claremont Lane.

As part of this same order, Trull Road, Trull, will also be temporarily closed from its junction with Claremont Lane, and continuing for 175 metres. Combined, these closures will impact 797 metres of road.

These closures are to enable Heidelberg to carry out prep and resurfacing works on behalf of Somerset Highways.

The works will start from Monday, November 10, and last until Friday, November 21. The roads will only be closed between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm each day.
