Wellington
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:
Temporary road closure due to duct installation works:
A ROAD in Wellington will be temporarily closed to allow Southwest Overhead Services Ltd to lay new duct on behalf of Openreach.
Springfield Road will be closed from April 15 to 17.
The order becomes effective on April 9 and will remain in force for 18 months.
Goods vehicle operator’s licence change application:
LUKE Davis trading as Kingdom TM Ltd of Unit J-K, Monument View, Summerfield Avenue, Wellington is applying to change an existing licence.
The licence change will allow Kingdom TM Ltd to keep one extra goods vehicle and two trailers at the operating centre at Unit J-K Monument View, Summerfield Avenue, Wellington.
Collapsed wall causes temporary speed limit:
A road in Sampford Arundel will see a temporary speed limit due to a collapsed wall.
Sampford Moor Road will have a temporary 30mph speed limit which will come into operation on March 19 and could remain in force for 18 months.
The works are expected to commence on the March 25 to December 31 to enable Kier, working on behalf of Somerset Council to carry out emergency works to repair a collapsed wall.
The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.
Exemptions are provided in the order for emergency vehicles.
Temporary road closure in West Buckland:
A ROAD in West Buckland will be temporarily closed to enable Openreach to carry out poling and cabling works.
Works will commence on Haywards Road on April 7 to 10.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements.
West Somerset
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas:
Temporary road closure near Blue Anchor:
A road near Blue Anchor will close to enable Wessex Water to repair cracked sewer to prevent flooding.
Works on Roadwater to White Horse Pub commence on March 23 and last until March 24.
