PLANNERS have given their support for the construction of a 24-home development on land off Taunton Road in Wellington.

Members of Wellington Town Council’s planning committee this month gave their backing to the amended plans being put forward by Summerfield Developments – earmarked for land next to the Mount Veterinary Hospital site.

The properties will be a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes with a new access off Taunton Road.

Planning permission for the development of the site was given in 2014 but councillors are now looking at amended plans.
