PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:

Wellington Without road closure

Somerset Council has made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Ford Street, Wellington Without, from the junction with Wellington Relief Road.

This is in place to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works.

The works relating to this order are only expected to take six hours, commencing at 9.30am and concluding at 3.30pm on Monday, November 3.

Closure at Bradford-on-Tone

Somerset Council has ordered that Oake Road, Bradford-on-Tone, be closed to all traffic from near its junction with East Nynehead Road.

This is to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works.

The works are expected to take six hours, starting at 9.30am and ending at 3.30pm on Friday, October 24.

Two road closures made for Fitzhead Road

Somerset Council has made two orders closing Fitzhead Road, Fitzhead to all traffic.

The first order sees Somerset Council close the road at a point that is 399 metres south-east of the junction with Tylers Lane.

This order is in place to enable Wessex Water to renew a stop tap.

The works for this order are expected to last for five days, starting on Monday, October 24, and lasting until Friday, October 24. The closure will be in place at all hours of the day.

The second order sees Somerset Council prohibit all traffic from proceeding along Fitzhead Road from the road’s junction with Coxlands Rock to its junction with Halse Road.

This order has been made to enable Openreach to replace three poles.

The works are expected to take six hours, taking place between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm on Monday, November 3.

Connection works close Wild Oake Lane

Somerset Council has made an order to close Wild Oak Lane, from near its junction with Trull Road.

This order will enable Wessex Water to carry out new customer connection works.

The works are expected to last for five days, starting on Monday, October 24, and lasting until Friday, October 24. The closure will be in place at all hours of the day.
