PLANS are being put into place to bring the flower bed outside the toilet block at the North Street car park in Wellington back to life.
Members of Wellington Town Council’s environment committee heard on September 17 from open spaces manager Darren Hill about the plans.
“The bed outside the toilet block has nothing growing in it,” he said. “It looks very untidy.”
Councillors heard that Mr Hill wants to plant the flower bed with roses.
But Cllr Mark Lithgow warned: “It will become a target for vandalism.”
Mr Hill said he hoped roses and their prickly thorns would deter potential vandals, while it would be framed with an easy-to-grow hedge.
Councillors supported the project which could cost around £2,470 plus VAT.
