Police are continuing the fight against illegal drugs in Wellington.

A series of Warrants were carried out on Wednesday the 27th July in conjuction with Wolverhampton and Taunton Police Forces.

Operation Scorpio was announced as a joint police force drug crackdown in the west country.

It has been succesful so far with 194 arrests during the first phase of the operation in March.

Wellington Neighbourhood policing team posted a statement on their facebook page updating locals of their current progress.

A spokesperson said: “Four people are currently in the cells after Avon and Somerset officers worked with West Midlands colleagues to carry out a series of warrants earlier today in Wolverhampton, Taunton and Wellington as part of an ongoing investigation into drug supply into the Taunton and Wellington area.”

It has also been reported that officers seized suspected crack coacaine, heroin, cash, mobile phones, a stun gun and a baton.
