TEN new jobs have been created with the opening of a new business at Westpark 26, Chelston, Wellington.

Removals and storage firm Fox Group has relocated its Ilminster branch to a newly-built 15,000 sq ft warehouse unit at Westpark.

The company is trading from the site as Fox Self Storage and Chudley International Removals.

The bespoke facility is part of the group’s expansion plans and helps to support 20 existing skilled and semi-skilled jobs, as well as bringing the new posts.

Ben Trickey, commercial director of Summerfield, which has developed the business park, said: “The creation of jobs is always a welcome part of any new commercial development, enhancing the local economy further.

“I am delighted that Paul Fox entrusted Summerfield Commercial with his latest development here in Somerset and wish him and the team all the best with this new facility.”

Fox Group was founded in 1971 and the Chelston development is its eighth site in the UK, having been confirmed during the company’s 50th year of trading as a family business.

Fox Group managing director Paul Fox said: “Having taken the completed building back in August last year I am pleased to have opened the new facility.

“It is a very high specification new build on the prestigious and growing site of Westpark 26.”

The 300,000 sq ft Westpark development features industrial warehouses, distribution depots, workshops, trade counters, offices, small employment units, retail and fast food outlets, as well a petrol filling station, hotel, and public house.

Summerfield is currently working on its next terraced units ranging from about 1,800 sq ft to 18,800 sq ft and is registering interested parties.
