Drivers in and around Somerset West and Taunton will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A30, from 8pm April 1 2025 to 4am April 1 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 8pm June 10 to 4am June 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 25 to junction 26 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

M5, from 9pm June 11 to 6am June 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 entry slip closure - for inspection/survey works, diversion via - M5 south to junction 26 and return.

M5, from 8pm June 15 to 7am September 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 26 - all entry and exit slips closed for Somerset Council Chelston Link improvement Scheme. Northbound, exit slip diversion via M5 northbound to junction 25, A358 and A38 southbound. Southbound, exit slip diversion via M5 southbound to junction 27 and A38 northbound. Northbound, entry slip diversion via Chelston Rbt, A38 and A358 northbound to junction 25. Southbound, entry slip diversion via Chelston Rbt and A38 southbound.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
