Drivers in and around Somerset West and Taunton will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• A30, from 8pm April 1 2025 to 4am April 1 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.
And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M5, from 8pm October 27 to 6am October 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 27 to 25 carriageway closure to install narrow lanes for drainage works, diversion via A38.
• M5, from 8pm October 27 2025 to 6am February 7 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 narrow lanes for drainage works.
• M5, from 8pm October 31 to 6am November 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 entry slip road closure for resurfacing, diversion via M5, junction 26 and return.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
