Children, staff, parents and grandparents have been working to make ‘small but exciting’ changes to create more natural outdoor spaces at Beech Grove Primary School in Wellington.

The changes to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) outdoor area were made with help and support from Wellington Seed and Plant Swap Facebook group, and Transition Town Wellington (TTW).

The goal was to spend as little as possible and to use natural or recycled materials where possible.

So far, a Woodland Hideout, Dinosaur World in tyres and a Bee Diner flower bed have been created, in addition to a mud kitchen.

More details and photos in tomorrow’s WWN.
