WELLINGTON Carnival is not set to take place until September 29 but preparations are already under way with trial runs of floats at summer carnivals elsewhere.

The Wellington Carnival Queen float is pictured here at Bridport Carnival in Dorset on Saturday (August 18). The float was also set to take part in the traditional torchlight procession to West Bay the next day.

Carnival chairman Dave Rylatt said: “We are delighted to support Bridport Carnival, as it has supported Wellington for many years.

“We are also pleased that local businesses supporting Wellington Carnival were clearly on display in another county, including Swallowfield, Wellington Nissan, the Skylark and Unwin Photography. Other logos – not on photo – include Bloomin’ Lovely Flowers.”
