RUSH hour traffic was disrupted by a crash on the M5 motorway near Wellington on Friday evening (November 28) for a second night in a row.

Three cars were believed to have been involved in a collision shortly after 4 pm on the southbound carriageway close to junction 26, not far from where a bus and a van crashed on Thursday night and caused a closure of the motorway for several hours.

One car was thought to have collided with the central reservation, and police and ambulance services crews were in attendance.

One motorist told the Wellington Weekly: “It looked like a woman carrying a young child had got out of one of the cars and was standing there.

“There was a big lorry flashing its lights to try to stop the traffic behind it.”

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has been approached for any details of the incident.
