Three Year 8 students from Court Fields School in Wellington attended the latest town council meeting to present their work on surveying the habits of shoppers in the town centre.
Oliver Baker, Fraser Morrison and Abbie Berg Walters (pictured) spoke about their findings from a study they conducted and took questions from councillors.
Wellington Mayor Mark Lithgow congratulated them on the quality of their presentation and the way they answered councillors’ questions.
"I thought they did a great job, as public speaking is not easy," he said. "Although nervous at first, they gave a clear and engaging speech about their work and were obviously proud to share their findings.
"It was useful for us to hear what they had found out as we are keen to know what people think about our town centre. They were a credit to the school."
