Fancy finding your voice, meeting new people and giving your wellbeing a boost? A free singing day in Wellington is inviting everyone, from experienced singers to complete beginners, to come along and have a go.

Together in Tone takes place at Wellington School on Sunday, September 20, offering an informal afternoon of communal music, with no previous singing experience required.

The event, which begins with registration at 1pm in the school’s Great Hall, is designed to be accessible and relaxed. There is no need to be able to read music. Organisers say all singers and beginners are welcome.

Participants will have the chance to sing a mixture of music, from classical favourites to more modern songs, while enjoying refreshments and the opportunity to meet other people in the community.

And there is no pressure to be a seasoned performer. The afternoon will culminate in a short, informal concert for friends and family at 6pm, giving participants the chance to share what they have learned during the day.

Organisers are also keen to make sure transport or access issues do not prevent people from taking part. Anyone who needs help getting to the event, or who has access requirements, is encouraged to contact Caz at Wellington Town Council, where help may be possible.

The Together in Tone Singing Day is completely free.

The event takes place at Wellington School, South Street, Wellington, TA21 8NT, with registration from 1pm and the closing informal concert at 6pm.

So, whether you already know your scales from your arpeggios or have never sung outside the shower, there is only one requirement: come along, loosen those vocal chords and give it a go.
