It might be a bit early to start thinking Christmas, but St Margaret’s Hospice Care is already looking ahead to the giving season with the return of some much-loved events alongside plenty of opportunities for people to get involved.

The festive fundraising gets underway with the return of the Santa Abseil on Saturday 5 December, which challenges adrenaline-seekers and fear-facers to abseil down the famous Cheddar Gorge, dressed in a full Santa suit.

With friends and family cheering them on and celebratory mince pies waiting at the finish, participants can enjoy an unforgettable experience while raising funds for local hospice care.

The following day, on Sunday 6 December, festive fancy dress will take over the streets of Taunton for a Tinsel Trot.

Organised in collaboration with the Taunton Carnival Committee, the community fun run will bring a closed-road 5km route (along with a 1k route for little legs) to Somerset’s county town, giving runners, families and Christmas-lovers the chance to come together and support a good cause.

And for those looking to start the new year with a splash, the New Year’s Day Dip returns on Friday 1 January. This sea splash offers the perfect opportunity to welcome the new year with adventure.

We’re incredibly grateful for that support and can’t wait to celebrate the festive season with our community.”
