Somerset West and Taunton's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• A30, from 8pm April 1 2025 to 4am April 1 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.
And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M5, from 8pm April 29 to 6am May 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26, lane closure for signs maintenance.
• M5, from 9pm May 2 to 6am May 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 to junction 24 carriageway closure for bridge maintenance, diversion via A358 Toneway and A38.
• M5, from 9pm May 7 to 6am May 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 to junction 24 carriageway closure for bridge maintenance, diversion via A358 Toneway and A38.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
