A SECOND-hand book shop on Wellington’s South Street is celebrating its one-year anniversary.

No Shelf Control was opened by Aiden McLean, founder of Bristol Alternative Market, on August 27, 2024.

The owner, who commutes into town from Taunton, said the one-year mark “feels a bit surreal.”

They said: “So much has changed in the last year. And I hope, well, if anyone’s got a bigger shop, we need a bigger shop.”

No Shelf Control is family run shop specialising in “nerdy” second-hand books including a variety of horror, fantasy, and classic novels and non-fiction staples.

To add to their collection, owner Aiden hopes to add their own book of recipes to the shelves of the South Street book shop in time for Christmas.
